Fox moved to Yorkville from Peotone over winter break, just in time for indoor season.
In middle school in Peotone she just ran the 800, and was part of state-qualifying 1,600 relays.
She'd never run cross country until this year, but was fourth at the Interstate Eight Conference meet for Peotone and was a Class 1A state qualifier.
She's taking to the longer distances.
"It is a big jump," Fox admitted. "I was never great at running sprints, I just never wanted to do distance. It was hard, but now I like it a lot."
The longest Fox ever ran in practices in Peotone was six miles, but now she routinely runs seven a day, up to 10. She's come a long way in a short time, too, and took third in the 3,200 at indoor conference.
