Leo Amezquita, Plano, junior, forward: While only 5-feet-4, he made big plays utilizing his quickness, surprising physical play for his small stature and a wicked left-footed shot. Led a young Reapers squad with eight goals and four assists. Received honorable mention all-sectional and all-conference accolades. [Steven Buyansky]Alex Barrientos,Yorkville, senior, defender: This three-year varsity player led the Foxes during a season filled with ups and downs. Guided the defense as its calm-headed, mature, veteran leader/captain while also scoring twice and distributing three assists. [Sean King for Shaw Media]Omar Carreño, Oswego, senior, forward: Named the Record/Ledger Soccer Player of the Year for the second straight season. Led the Panthers to a regional title with 36 goals and 12 assists while being named all-state and all-conference.Jacob Chapman, Newark, junior, midfielder: Playing both in the center and on a wing, this two-time all-area selection helped Newark double its win total this fall from seven to 14. Had 10 assists and eight goals as he was dangerous as a scorer and in setting up his teammates. [Sean King for Shaw Media]Ford Frazer, Oswego East, senior, forward: The Wolves Team MVP. Scored 20 goals and had 11 assists. All-sectional selection was named all-conference for a third straight season. Finished with 44 career goals and 23 assists and 111 points, third best in school history. [Steven Buyansky - For Shaw Media]Nathan Huerter, Oswego East, senior, goalkeeper: As the longtime fixture in net for the Wolves, Huerter had six shutouts for a 14-win team. Was named the first all-conference and honorable mention all-sectional goalie in school history. Finished with 16 career shutouts.Johnathan Kraemer, Oswego, senior, defender: On a team known for its offense, this team captain’s leadership on the back line was vital to the team’s success. Received honorable mention all-sectional and all-conference recognition.Zach Lass, Oswego East, senior, defender: As an all-conference and honorable mention all-sectional selection, he anchored the back line for the Wolves, which surrendered the lowest number of goals (23) in program history. He also chipped in a goal and two assists. [Sean King for Shaw Media]Mason McCaw, Oswego, junior, forward: His combination of strength, power and physical play resulted in a huge offensive season with 31 goals and 10 assists. Was named all-sectional and all-conference. Also had three assists and was an honorable mention all-sectional selection. [Steven Buyansky - For Shaw Media]Steven Udy, Oswego, junior, midfielder: His confidence and awareness on the field were stellar in helping the Panthers finish 18-3-2. Finished with 14 assists and seven goals while manning the midfield. A team captain and leader, Udy received all-conference recognition.
