Yorkville High School students took the stage one last time for the current school year during the annual Cabaret Night on Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11.
Students spent the semester preparing for their performances in two groups, according to director David Smith. Seniors performed as soloists, and underclassmen performed in groups or pairs, all choosing songs from well-known Broadway musicals including: "Dear Evan Hansen", "Mamma Mia", "Bring it On", Company", "Once", and "Anastasia." The students also performed several times as a whole, incorporating student-arranged choreography into their numbers.
As several of the students featured were seniors, Cabaret Night served as a final performance for seniors Austin Zepeda, Regan Buck, John Harker, Bre Turner, Carter Shimp, Corey Mitchell, Nick Frieders, Zeke Amposta, Bryan Tamayo, Victoria Crawford, and Jake Gartung.
