More customers than ever before are transitioning from "Big-Box Banks" to community banks. One reason why is, since opening our doors in July 2000, the Bridgeview Bank Oswego team has cared deeply about community involvement. In fact, it’s one of our core principles.
Our relationship and mortgage bankers, managers, and officers all strive to be pillars in our community. We devote ourselves to volunteering on local boards and other community outreach activities, and we actively support both local charities and national philanthropic organizations. Through these vital efforts and partnerships, the community spirit that Bridgeview Bank Oswego was founded on continues to flourish today.
Throughout 2017 and 2018, Bridgeview Bank Group marked another year as a leader in local charitable giving. We contributed to over 100 organizations which include social service agencies, schools, community centers, museums, and veteran organizations.
While the majority of our charitable contributions were to institutions serving Oswego and the Chicagoland area, we significantly increased our support of the USO of Illinois through our Patriot Program, which has generated over $141,000 in donations for local military families.
In addition, our Hearts for the Homeless Program has raised over $70,000 for area homeless organizations, including $7,650 to support Hesed House of Aurora. In keeping true to our core value of community involvement, we are proud to continue our support of these organizations both financially and through direct employee involvement.
