Roundup: Kenzie Senffner's hot shooting keys Yorkville's win over Rochelle

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Yorkville: Kenzie Senffner scored 24 points, going 6-for-6 from the 3-point line, and Lily Guerra added 17 points to lead the Foxes past Rochelle, 65-29, on Thursday. Olivia Ross added nine points.

Ross and Claudia Grunwald scored six points in Yorkville's 56-25 loss to Geneseo on Tuesday, as the Foxes were without injured guards Senffner and Guerra.

Newark: Meggie Scott had 21 points, 19 assists and 11 steals in Newark's 87-30 win over Hiawatha on Friday. Alyssa Gittins added 20 points and 13 rebounds, Brooke Kala 13 points, Jocelyn Mitchell 12 points and Kaitlyn Hatteberg 10 points for Newark (10-4, 4-0).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Parkview Christian: Jackson Feil scored 15 points, Jake Angelo added 14 and Sammy Swenson 12 for Parkview Christian in a 58-37 win over Earlville. Angelo scored 19, Feil 17 and Swenson 14 in a 60-38 win over Hinckley-Big Rock. Angelo had 25 points and 19 rebounds, and Jacob Keehma had 16 points in a 74-69 win over Kankakee Trinity.

Yorkville Christian: Colton Schutt scored 14 points for the Mustangs (6-4) in a 63-42 loss to Romeoville on Monday. Tristen Phillips scored 21, Jaden Schutt 20 and Mekhi Lunford 18 in an 86-54 win over Midland. Phillips and Lunford each scored 18 in a 73-54 win over Elgin Academy.

WRESTLING

Yorkville: The Foxes lost to Crystal Lake Central, 51-28, on Saturday. Ben Stemmet (220) and Jacob Owens (120) both notched pins for Yorkville. Yorkville beat Fenwick, 57-10, getting pins from Nick Markoutsis (138), Roger Shillinger (170) and Will Schumacher (182). Yorkville lost to St. Charles East, 54-21. Nick Stemmet (195) notched a pin for the Foxes. Yorkville lost to DeKalb, 59-7, with Brady Fisher (220) and Cole Ferguson (126) notching Yorkville's lone wins.

GIRLS BOWLING

Yorkville: Allison Nape had Yorkville's high series of 609 and high game of 203 in the Foxes' 2,6767-2,552 dual win over DeKalb.

BOYS BOWLING

Yorkville: Zack Nauman had the Foxes' high series of 677 in a 3,356-3,164 dual win over Geneseo. Rick Horstmann had the high series of 606 in a 3,295-3,245 loss to Geneva.
