The Oswego and Yorkville school district communities once again will come together to participate in the Communities vs. Cancer Hoops for Hope charity basketball fundraiser. This year’s theme is "Go Gold for Pediatric Cancer Awareness."
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Oswego High School, 4250 Route 71 in Oswego.
Festivities are planned for children and adults of all ages. Activities include six basketball games between the Oswego High School and Yorkville High School boys and girls teams, a bake sale, games for the kids, halftime and between-game contests, a silent auction and a raffle for the chance to win various baskets filled with products and gift cards from area businesses.
This Go Gold event also includes a first-ever “Out for Blood” blood drive. To sign up, visit https://bit.ly/2EAvPfF.
All of the money raised will go to Cal’s Angels, whose mission is to grant wishes, raise awareness and fund research to help kids who are fighting cancer. For information and a detailed schedule of the day’s events, visit www.calsangels.org/C4C.
