Marmion Academy, at 1000 Butterfield Road in Aurora, will host the 19th annual Junior High Honor Band on Sunday, Jan. 27.
Check-in is at 1 p.m.; rehearsal begins at 1:30 p.m.
The Junior High Honor Band is open to sixth- to eighth-grade boys and girls proficient on a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument. There is also an option for students who perform on upright string bass. Fifth-graders may participate with a note from their band director or private lesson instructor certifying their proficiency.
For additional information and to register, visit marmion.org/honorband. There is a $10 fee per student. Attire, schedule and other details can be found on the registration site and will also be included in the confirmation email.
This is a great opportunity for students to meet musicians from other schools.
Marmion Academy’s band director, René Rosas, will then rehearse the full band in preparation for 5:45 p.m. concert.
