Nikki Beane and Liz Kerlin of the Hinckley Festival Association recently presented Fox Valley Older Adult Services with a donation.
Through their contributions, attendees at this year’s fireworks display were able to assist FVOAS in offering Hinckley residents a senior center in Sandwich to enjoy home services and adult day services.
Home services provide families and caregivers peace of mind and the ability to continue working and caring for families while knowing their loved one is receiving personal care by trained staff. Aides assist clients in their own homes. All aides are extensively screened, background checked and fingerprinted and receive 24 hours of mandatory pre-service training. FVOAS offers care for adults from two hours of assistance a week to 24/7 care.
Adult day service offers social, physical and mental stimulation in a family-oriented setting at the Fox Valley Community Center, with meals and activities provided during the day. This program is for adults who are challenged (dementia, early Alzheimer’s, physically, etc.) or who are socially isolated. Guests spend time in a safe, comfortable environment, giving their caregivers the freedom to work, shop or attend to other obligations.
FVOAS offers a congregate meal, Meals on Wheels and transportation through a partnership with Voluntary Action Center.
