A woman who had been reported missing in Bristol Township and was later found by authorities Wednesday evening, Jan. 9, was later pronounced dead at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora.
Kane County Chief Deputy Coroner Loren Carrera confirmed that the 37-year-old woman, identified as Wendy Lippard, was pronounced dead in the county. Carrera said an autopsy would be performed Friday, Jan. 11, and that more information would be available following.
Lippard had been reported missing Wednesday, Jan. 9, in the area of 13 East Highland Drive in Bristol Township at around 8 p.m., according to authorities.
Police deployed a drone that flew over the Bristol Township area and the Chicago Police Department provided a helicopter for assistance, police said.
A statement from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office concluded: "The Kendall County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the public for their interest in assisting with the search...The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Yorkville Police Department, Montgomery Police Department, Oswego Police Department, Chicago Police Department, Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection Department and the Kendall County Emergency Management Search and Rescue Team for their assistance."
