The OHS Band Boosters is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide financial and logistical support to the band program. The band program consists of 330 students across 6 concert bands, 3 jazz bands, marching band, pep band and musical pit band.
The OHS Panther Marching Band took first place at a competition for the first time in school history. The three OHS Jazz Bands recently received top Division I ratings from judges at the North Shore Jazzfest in Glenview. The OHS Wind Symphony was one of just 15 bands selected from across the country to perform as a featured band at the prestigious Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis in March.
Maintaining a growing high quality band program at a time when the state budget situation has brought financial challenges to school districts has been difficult. The OHS Band Boosters is committed to bridging the significant gap between the school district’s support and the amount needed to maintain our program at a high level. Proceeds from “Bandcake Breakfast” will be used to help purchase needed equipment, fund transportation to competitions and festivals, and bring in professional clinicians to work with our ensembles. Support from the community is greatly appreciated.
