To the Editor,
It has been approximately 50 years since I left my boyhood home in Oswego and moved to Aurora/Sugar Grove. However, during that period I have continued to subscribe to the Ledger primarily because I enjoy reading about what is happening in the community in which I was raised. I was particularly interested in seeing, in one of the January editions, a 1957 photo of Willow Hill School, a one room school house where I attended first and second grades.
The column that I enjoy reading the most each week is “Reflections” by Roger Matile. It is very apparent that Roger possesses a great deal of expertise and spends a lot of time and effort looking back over the rich history of Illinois and the Fox Valley area. All of us who read the Ledger are extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from Roger’s articles.
