YORKVILLE – Lenny’s Gas N Wash has applied for a special use permit to construct a gas station with a convenience store and car wash at the southeast corner of U.S. Route 34 and Sycamore Road in Yorkville.
Yorkville City Administrator Bart Olson said developers submitted the plan a week or two ago. He said discussion by the City Council's economic development committee is set for sometime in May.
"It depents on a few things and staff levels, but that's our tentative date," Olson said.
According to the city's Friday, March 29 Facebook post, the city's Planning and Zoning Commission is set to conduct a public hearing on the special use permit proposal 7 p.m. June 12 at City Hall, 800 Game Farm Road. Olson said that date is also dependent on whether anything changes in providing 15-30 days' notice for the public hearing in the newspapers.
All are invited to attend the public hearing and members of the community will have an opportunity to be heard on the matter, according to the city's website. Written comments may be addressed to Ward 3 Aldermen Chris Funkhouser, firstname.lastname@example.org, and Joel Frieders, email@example.com, or to the United City of Yorkville Community Development Department, City Hall, 800 Game Farm Road, Yorkville, IL 60560.
Written comments will be accepted up to the date of the public hearing. For more information, contact Jason Engberg, senior planner for United City of Yorkville, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 630-553-8555.
