BRISTOL – Bristol-Kendal Fire Protection District firefighters extinguished a machinery fire April 11 at 1270 E. Beecher Road near Galena Road and North Bridge Street.
Bristol Kendall Fire Chief James Bateman said the call initially came in at about 10:30 a.m. as a brush fire but ended up being a machinery fire when fire officials got there. He said the affected equipment included a yard waste grinder and conveyor belt.
Bateman said the fire was under control by 11:30 a.m.
Bateman said there were no injuries and he has no information on the potential dollar loss associated with the equipment fire. He said fire officials are still trying to determine what caused the fire in the first place.
“It doesn’t appear to be anything suspicious right now,” Bateman said.
Bateman said Little Rock, Oswego and Sugar Grove fire personnel provided assistance on the call.
