The Reapers started Friday's game in fine fashion.
Read reached on a hard-hit infield single to start the bottom of the first. Emma Shores bunted her over, and Read took third on a wild pitch.
When Stevenson struck out, Read started to walk to the dugout, thinking there were three out. Love, though, told her to break for home.
Read scored safely, but after a long deliberation it was ruled that she gave herself up to go to the dugout, and was ruled out.
"Which doesn't matter. I don't think they got that call right," Love said. "The way that I understand it is you can come off the base. They didn't make a play on her so there's no baseline. To me it's like you're rounding third, you can still make the play at home."
