Bruno J. Rendina, 40, of the 200 block of Main Street, Oswego, has been charged with burglary and retail theft in connection with three reported thefts of area stores that took place between Aug. 20, and Monday, Sept. 9.

Oswego police responded to a report of retail theft at 4:28 p.m. Aug. 20 at a business in the 1100 block of Douglas Road for a reported theft that took place Aug. 19, at 7:10 p.m., when liquor valued at less than $300 was stolen. Suspect information then was provided to the police.

Officers responded to a report of retail theft at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at a business in the 1100 block of Douglas Road, which took place earlier in the day at 5:18 p.m. Employees informed officers that liquor valued at about $285 had been stolen and provided officers with suspect information.

Oswego police responded to a report of retail theft at 9:46 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9 at a business in the 4500 block of Route 71. Officers were informed that liquor valued at approximately $128 had been stolen and were provided with suspect information.

With the cooperation of the reporting businesses, officers were able to determine that the suspect in the three cases was the same individual, identified as Rendina, according to an Oswego police news release.

Rendina then was charged and an arrest warrant was issued by a Kendall County judge, with bond set at $75,000. The Oswego Police Department later learned Rendina is currently being held in the Laurel County Detention Center in Laurel County Kentucky on unrelated charges.
