Flannel and fun at downtown Oswego Fox Fall Fest

Oswego welcomed in fall under a crisp blue sky Sunday at the annual Fox Fall Fest, featuring a range of small businesses and local eateries. Jay Hitselberger, owner of Jay's Maize Kettle Corn, set up a booth for his family business at the event for the first time and praised the weekend event. "We're used to going around to festivals and trying out different places," Hitselberger said. "It's been great so far; it's been our busiest event of the year so far. "I almost wish we brought more. We can barely keep up." Aurora resident Monique Robledo, who brought her family with her to visit downtown Oswego, said she thinks the event is great. A highlight for Robledo was Glowby the Bubbler, who entertained crowds of children with bubbles made from a variety of wands featuring nets and rings, as well as tools that created smoke-filled bubbles. "It's so simple, it's such a simple concept, but everybody is so engaged, it's really fun," she said.
