Kendall County Sheriff’s reports

Information in Police Reports is obtained from local police departments. Individuals in Police Reports who have been charged with a crime have not been proved guilty in court.

In-state warrant

Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle at 11:59 p.m. Nov. 24 at Douglas Road and Old Post Road in unincorporated Oswego Township for speeding. A passenger of the car, Dominic J. Rael, 28, of the 500 block of Oak Avenue in Aurora, was found to have two active warrants, according to police. The first warrant came from the Aurora Police Department for driving without a valid driver’s license, the second was out of Kane County for failing to appear in court for driving without a valid driver’s license. Rael was taken to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville.

Property damage accident,
failure to notify police of accident

Sheriff’s officials responded to a call at 7 a.m. Nov. 23 at Route 126 and Old Grove Road in unincorporated Na-Au-Say Township for a report of a roll over accident in the area that occurred between 1 and 7 a.m. that day. Police found the car and saw it was unoccupied with no one in the immediate area. Deputies later located driver Nicholas Sarich, 27, of the 500-1000 block of Westwood Drive in Shorewood. Sarich was cited for improper lane use and failure to notify police of the accident. Sarich was given a court date and released on recognizance.

Burglary

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 1000 block of Hold Road in unincorporated Seward Township for a report of burglary to a barn that occurred at 12 p.m. Nov. 23. Police said the victim reported someone entered the barn and stole a dirt bike valued at $500 from the barn. The investigation continues.

In-state warrant

Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle at 12:34 a.m. Nov. 23 near Dolores Street and Route 31 in unincorporated Oswego Township. Police learned the driver, Sergio A. Rodriguez, 20, of the 100 block of Laurie Lane in Oswego, had an active warrant from the Aurora Police Department for failing to appear in court for a breach of peace charge. Rodriguez was arrested by sheriff’s deputies and charged with failure to appear in court.

Suspicious circumstances

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at 6:41 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 8400 block of River Road in unincorporated Fox Township for a report of suspicious circumstances. The investigation continues.

In-state warrant

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at 10:12 p.m. Nov. 19 in the 0-100 block of Durango Road in Boulder Hill for a report of a disturbance. Police learned on scene that Michael Copp, 32, of the 0-100 block of Greenfield Road in Montgomery, had an active warrant out of Lake County for failure to appear in court for driving under the influence. Copp was transported to the Kendall County Jail without incident.
