YORKVILLE – Yorkville School District 115 officials said parents whose children will be starting kindergarten next fall within the district are invited to attend one of two upcoming parent information and registration events.
The kindergarten parent information and registration events for the district's half-day kindergarten program will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on March 10 and 11 at Yorkville High School, 797 Game Farm Road, according to a news release from the school district.
Parents may attend either session, according to the news release. Attendees should park in the rear parking lot of the high school and enter through Door 19, district officials said in the release.
A brief overview presentation of the district's kindergarten program is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the library for parents who are new to Yorkville School District 115, district officials said.
Childcare services and registration packet pick-up will be available at the start of the event, according to the news release. School officials will be present to address topics including kindergarten curriculum, registration, immunization requirements, transportation, day care options and dual language or English learner programs, along with school-specific questions.
A child must be five years old on or before Sept. 1 of the school year in order to enroll in kindergarten next fall. Parents or guardians will need to bring an original birth certificate and a copy of three proofs of residency – which may include a current tax bill, lease, recent utility bill or driver’s license – to complete the registration process.
