Kendall County Sheriff's officials investigating Oswego Township armed robbery

OSWEGO TOWNSHIP – The Kendall County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a report of an armed robbery that occurred Thursday, June 25 evening within Oswego Township.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a call at 8:52 p.m. Thursday at the 0-99 block of Gastville Street within the township for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred along the roadway. There was no additional information provided about arrests made in regard to the incident.

Sheriff's officials said in a Friday news release there were no injuries reported and it does not appear to be a random act. Police said the investigation thus far has led to the belief that this is a targeted incident involving individuals that were known to one another.

"The scene was processed, witnesses were interviewed and evidence is being evaluated," sheriff's officials wrote in the news release.

The incident was reported to involve a weapon other than a firearm, sheriff's officials said. Electronics were reported to be stolen during the incident, according to the news release.

The investigation into the matter continues, according to sheriff's officials.

Sheriff's officials said in the news release anyone with tips or information about the incident may email detectives@co.kendall.il.us or call 630-553-5856. Callers who wish to remain anonymous may contact Kendall County Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999.
