To the Editor:
The title is borrowed from a TV show that paid tribute to all kinds of people in these trying times. Some were obvious, such as the medical community. One was a complete surprise to me – a truck driver. But, of course, the truckers are vital to our getting food and all manner of supplies. The title comes from singers who contributed their talent to the program.
My thoughts start there and go on with a phrase common these days, even with small children: We will get through this together. I pick up the phone and talk to our son in Phoenix; that conversation reminds me of a friend in Tucson, and then a cousin in Davis, CA. Each recipient expresses gratitude that they were thought of. Yes, most of us are shut-in still; often that means being separated from relatives and friends. However, the telephone and internet do provide a way to link up. You are urged to give it a try. We can be united in caring for others.
