Plano police seeking information on two suspects in retail theft

Suspects walked out of Rural King with $1,123 in merchandise

Plano police are asking for assistance from the public in locating two individuals suspected in the theft of more than $1,100 in merchandise from Rural King earlier this month.

According to a post to the department's Facebook page, officers were told that the two suspects entered the store Aug. 16 in the 15000 block of West Route 34 and filled a shopping cart with merchandise. The female suspect entered the checkout line, while the male suspect took an empty shopping cart and filled the cart with the scanned items. After a majority of the items were scanned, the male suspect told the female suspect he was going to start the car, and took the cart with him, according to police. The items in the cart are valued at $1,123.

After the remainder of the items had been scanned, the female suspect told the cashier that she had forgotten her wallet in the car. The female left the store and never returned.

Both subjects were seen leaving the store parking lot in an older model white Dodge Durango.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Officer Koch at the Plano Police Department by emailing him at skoch@planopoliceil.org or by calling 630-742-1473.
