The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved waivers to allow the serving of free meals to all children in the Plano community 18 years of age and younger, according to information provided by Plano School District 88.
The program is similar to the one that was offered in the spring and summer to all district families.
The deal applies not only to students enrolled in local schools, but all Plano children.
Parents and guardians are eligible to pick up bagged meals at all Plano school buildings during the following days and times:
• Mondays – 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 5 to 6 p.m.
• Thursdays – 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 5 to 6 p.m.
There are no income eligibility requirements, no paperwork to complete and the drive-thru, curbside service is safe and efficient.
On Mondays, each child will receive three free breakfasts and three lunches. On Thursday, each child will receive four free breakfasts and four lunches.
