Open Roads ABATE rides in Rookies Run

Members from Open Roads ABATE participated in the 14th annual “Rookie’s Run” sponsored by The Friendly Tap of Plano on Sunday, Aug. 23. Proceeds from this run went to the Fox Valley Older Adults Center in memory of Justin Fleming. This 115-mile ride started and ended at The Friendly Tap in Plano. Stops along the way included Karma in Wedron, Dockside in Ottawa, JRs Bar & Grill in Grand Ridge, Smitty’s in Leonore, and Leslie’s Lounge in Somonauk. After the ride, participants enjoyed a delicious meal at the Friendly Tap. Pictured are Open Roads ABATE members Linda Oleson, Brent Martin, Bruce Littlebrant, Cliff Oleson, Sally, Kolb, Bob and Cherie Mauer, Sherri and Chris Smith, Merry and Bob Withrow, Ralph Gearson, Jeff Johnson, and Bill Kolb, with American Legion Riders Post #181 members Bob Lawrence and Henry Herbst.
