UPDATED 1 P.M. MONDAY, SEPT. 28:

FOX TOWNSHIP – A Newark woman is facing charges related to a Sunday, Sept. 27 stabbing incident in Fox Township

Kendall County Sheriff's deputies arrested Ruth Spaeth, 25, of the 0-99 block of East Main Street, Newark, at 7:28 a.m. Sunday near Millington Road and Finnie Road in Fox Township. Police said Spaeth has been charged with aggravated battery, aggravated domestic battery, unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest.

Sheriff’s officials wrote in a news release that deputies were called to the area Sunday morning "for a male who had been stabbed." Police found out a disturbance took place before the incident and a small knife had been used during the incident.

The victim received treatment at Morris Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. There was no additional information in the sheriff's office news release about the victim, including the age of the victim.

Spaeth later was arrested and transported to the Kendall County Jail. She remains in jail as of 12:45 p.m. Monday and is awaiting bond call.

In a previous news release, sheriff's officials had said they were summoned to the area on a report of an aggravated battery.

Assisting sheriff's deputies at the scene of the arrest were personnel from the LaSalle County Sheriff's Office, Plano police department and Yorkville police department.
