BRISTOL TOWNSHIP – A Bristol Township woman was arrested Monday, Oct. 5 evening on an aggravated driving under the influence warrant out of Kendall County and also charged with DUI following an alleged hit and run incident.
Sheriff's deputies responded to a call at 5:57 p.m. Monday for a report of a hit and run involving one vehicle in the 8000 block of Van Emmon Road in Bristol Township, according to a Tuesday, Oct. 6 news release. Police made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Maria T. Winde, 52, of the 8000 block of Van Emmon Road, Bristol Township, following the alleged incident.
Winde was transported to Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora by the Oswego Fire Protection District for non-life threatening injuries, according to sheriff's officials. Upon release from Rush Copley, Winde was taken into custody on a Kendall County warrant for aggravated driving under the influence with no bond, per the news release.
Winde was additionally charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and operating an uninsured vehicle.
Winde was transported to the Kendall County Jail for processing. Winde remains in custody as of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Kendall County jail records.
