Bristol Kendall Fire Protection District Firefighters, assisted by firefighters from other area fire districts, extinguished a fire in a home on Hampton Lane in the Raintree subdivision on Yorkville's south side late Wednesday night, Oct. 14.
Bristol-Kendall Fire Chief James Bateman said firefighters were summoned to the scene at 10:43 p.m. and had the fire extinguished in approximately 20 minutes. However, Bateman said the fire caused significant damage to the two-story single family home.
The occupants of the home were able to evacuate the residence and no injuries were reported.
Bateman said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it appears to have started in the rear of the home.
As of Wednesday morning, fire district investigators were at the scene investigating the cause of fire and determining an estimate of damage.
The Oswego, Newark, Little-Rock Fox, Sugar Grove and Sandwich fire protection districts supported Bristol-Kendall Firefighters at the fire scene by providing personnel and equipment.
