Millikin University announced the names of undergraduates named to the dean’s list for the spring 2020 semester. Local students include Taylor Bailey of Oswego, Madelyn Brown of Newark, Lauren Brummel of Plano, Maya Dougherty of Oswego, Rebecca Husar of Yorkville, Valerie Kinley of Montgomery, Julia Kwiat of Sandwich, Chelsea McCullum of Oswego, Sarah Ness of Sandwich, Hayley Paladines of Oswego, Alicia Rosier of Yorkville, Logan Scalf of Sandwich and Caroline Welte of Sandwich.

Kristina Averkamp of Oswego recently received a Massage Therapy certificate from National University of Health Sciences.

Norman Hernandez of Oswego was one of 16 newly admitted University of Illinois Springfield freshmen who were awarded a total of $125,000 in scholarships from the University of Illinois System’s President’s Award Program. The individual scholarship amounts range from $5,000 to $10,000 a student.

Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights released the college’s dean’s list for spring 2020. Local students named include Sydni Mitchell of Oswego and Ava Kelly and Rachel Robinette of Yorkville.

Cali Bonie of Oswego graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering in spring 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering.

First-year Iowa State University student Erik Dralle of Oswego was invited by Iowa State University President Wendy Wintersteen to participate in the 2020-21 President’s Leadership Class. Each fall, 30 first-year students are selected for the class based on high school leadership experience, academic achievement and involvement in school and community service. Each student receives a $1,000 scholarship.

Georgia State University conferred a Bachelor of Science degree to Margaret Walker of Montgomery during the summer 2020 semester.

Scholarships valued at more than $870,000 were awarded to 394 University of Wisconsin-Stout students this academic year through the Stout University Foundation Inc.

Kaylee Harris of Montgomery was awarded the Phil McGuirk Scholarship sponsored by Little Nell Hotel; Philip H. McGuirk Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management Scholarship.

Cydney Washington of Montgomery earned the Dr. Carl Bechberger Scholarship and the E.S. & M.R. Griffiths Scholarship at Baldwin Wallace University this fall.
