Kait, a three-time conference champ in the Northern Illinois Big 12, took 15th at state last year. She looks forward to having her kid sister by her side. The Natividads are frequent partners at Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville, where their dad Rick is the assistant golf professional.
"I'm just really excited," Kait said. "I think it will be fun to play with her. We spent the whole summer playing together. Now it's not just for fun, it's for school. It will be fun to compete against her and mostly with her."
Kait, who committed to Toledo in February, pulled back her competitive schedule this summer. She only played in two tournaments, although she still golfed pretty much daily.
"I had to take a minute to step away from competitive golf and refall in love with the game again," Kait said. "I think I felt a lot of pressure with the upcoming season and getting into competitive college golf. I think getting away helped a lot."
